Fishing nets include pull nets, drift nets, and stick nets. Fishing nets are structural materials for fishing tools. More than 99% are processed from synthetic fibers. There are mainly nylon 6 or modified nylon monofilament, multifilament or multi monofilament, and fibers such as polyethylene, polyester, and polyvinylidene chloride can also be used.
The nets used in fishery production include trawl nets, purse seine nets, cast nets, fixed nets and cages. Trawls and purse seines are heavy-duty nets used in marine fisheries. The size of the mesh is 2.5 to 5 cm, the diameter of the net rope is about 2 mm, and the weight of the net is several tons or even dozens of tons. Usually, a pair of tugboats are used to pull and chase the fishing group separately, or a light boat is used to lure the fish into the group and encircle it. Casting nets are light-duty nets for fishing in rivers and lakes. The mesh size is 1 to 3 cm, the diameter of the net rope is about 0.8 mm, and the net weight is several kilograms. Fixed nets and cages are fixed nets for artificial culture in lakes, reservoirs or bays. The size and specifications vary according to the fish being raised, and the fish are kept in a certain water area to avoid escaping.
The raw materials of the woven fishnet are mainly 15-36 strands of 210-denier nylon, polyester multifilament and ethylene monofilament with a diameter of 0.8-1.2 mm. Weaving methods include knotting, twisting and warp knitting.
Modern fishing nets are mainly processed with polyethylene, nylon and other raw materials. It has a longer life cycle and higher fishing efficiency, and is classified by different usage methods. For example, cast nets (hand nets, hand cast nets) used in traditional fishing, trawl nets that use boats as power, gill nets (triple nets, purse seines) with different meshes trapping fish with gills. These nets are made of meshes of different sizes and threads of different materials for different fishing objects. At the same time, as the development of fishing nets, various fishing tools have also been produced, such as fishing cages and four-angle nets that are commonly used fishing tools.
